Received text I ordered a tv from Amazon. Fake
Caller "Potential Spam" hung up after a single ring (or else was blocked, or was a robocaller system). Number traced back to a fake sounding name at a non-existent address.
No message left -- caller hung up after only TWO rings. Caller ID said "UNKNOWN NAME". When I tried to look up the number, I only got a single hit in a Google search (for one of the Been Verified front sites -- didn't even turn up on any of the OTHER Been Verified front sites.....
Appears on Caller ID as Scotiabank, but Scotiabank have confirmed that this is not them and no information should be provided to the caller, who claims it is a "courtesy call to inform you about financial relief offered by Scotiabank". It is a very elaborate setup they have too, as when you call back the recorded greeting sounds authentic, and it is a different person who answers each time, giving the impression of a multi-staffed call centre.
